Characterization of the transition from defect to phase turbulence.

چکیده
For the complex Ginzburg-Landau equation on a large periodic interval, we show that the transition from defectto phase-turbulence is more accurately described as a smooth crossover rather than as a sharp continuous transition. We obtain this conclusion by using a powerful parallel computer to calculate various order parameters, especially the density of space-time defects, the Lyapunov dimension density, and the correlation lengths of the field phase and amplitude. Remarkably, the correlation length of the field amplitude is, within a constant factor, equal to the length scale defined by the dimension density. This suggests that a correlation measurement may suffice to estimate the fractal dimension of some large homogeneous chaotic systems. 47.27.Cn, 47.27.-i, 47.27.Cn, 05.45.+b, 05.70.Ln, 82.40.Bj Typeset using REVTEX

The simultaneous effect of 3d impurities of transition metals and oxygen vacancy defect on TiO2 anatase and rutile
In this work, the formation of oxygen-vacancy defect in 3d metals-doped TiO2 anatase and rutile structures is first investigated. The systematic calculations of formation energy, crystalline stability, band structure and density of state (DOS) of TiO2 samples of anatase and rutile doped with 3d transition metals with and without oxygen defect is done using FHI-aims as a software package based o...
متن کاملNumerical modeling and comparison study of elliptical cracks effect on the pipes straight and with thickness transition exposed to internal pressure, using XFEM in elastic behavior.
The present work deals with the effect of an external circumferential elliptical crack located at thickness transition on a varied stepped diameter pipe . The purpose is the application of the extended finite element method (XFEM) for the calculation of SIF at the thickness transition region of pipe considering internal pressure and compare the effect of the crack between pipes straight and wi...
متن کاملCharacterization of Synchronized Spatiotemporal States in Coupled Nonidentical Complex Ginzburg-Landau equations
We characterize the synchronization of two nonidentical spatially extended fields ruled by onedimensional Complex Ginzburg–Landau equations, in the two regimes of phase and amplitude turbulence. If two fields display the same dynamical regime, the coupling induces a transition to a completely synchronized state. When, instead, the two fields are in different dynamical regimes, the transition to...
متن کاملFabrication and Characterization of Rutile TiO2 Nanocrystals by Water Soluble Precursor
In this research, TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized by a simple wet chemical method. TiCl4 was used as precursor in hydrogen peroxideand ethanol. The TiO2 nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and UV-Vis spectrophotome...
متن کاملSynthesis and characterization of transition metal doped ZnSe/ZnS nanocrystals by a rapid photochemical method
In the present work, a one pot, rapid and room temperature photochemical Synthesis of transition metal (TM; Cu, Mn, Cr)-doped ZnSe/ZnS core/shell nanocrystals (NCs) was reported. FT-IR spectrum confirmed the capping of ZnSe by thioglycolic acid. XRD and TEM analysis demonstrated zinc blende phase NCs with an average size of around 3 and 5 nm for TM:ZnSe and TM:ZnSe/ZnS NCs, respectively. PL spe...
